Voiles de Cassis 2015

Sunday 17 May 2015
It was not won! 50 knots for Friday were announced and it raised a problem for the conveying of boats towards the port of Cassis. The GTC having moved the possibility for the boats to reach the port on Thursdays, most of the yachts had been able to make the trip. Actually, the mistral very blew hard. Saturday morning, at the breakfast of the crews, Marc, the owner of Alcyon 1871, told me his misadventure during his daily jogging towards the cape Canaille, a gust threw him at three meters in a bush and the violence of the wind was such as it was impossible to him to get up, obliging him to crawl on some meters to get free of the influence of the wind.
On Saturday, the mistral less blew hard than planned and it is under 20 knots that the whole fleet was able to take the departure under the same cape Canaille for a race triangle. On Sunday, the wind had fallen, the race committee resigned to reduce the first race. After a long wait, a small breeze allowed to launch a coastal race towards Riou.
